This project was driven by an emphasis on making the most of a relatively small east facing garden and connecting it with the new extended space. The dark long format bricks allowed the new living space to settle into the site externally and drawing this material into the inside gave the internal space both texture and contrast. The polished concrete floor compliments the dark exposed timber ceiling. For soft landscape design we collaborated with Johnny Know Garden Design, for choice of planting that works best within for the orientation and light quality. The lighting design was carefully considered to connect the internal and external spaces with a warm glow.
