The Trust purchased this unit as an external shell, as the overall complex was approaching completion. This is the new national headquarters of the Trust and represented a move to a more efficient and sustainable space close to Blackfriars on the South side of the city. As with all the Trust centres, the facility is primarily a training centre for young people, along with office space for the general staff team. The project involved the implementation of an agile working strategy, that reduced the floorspace of the building, but increased the variety of space types within which work and collaboration can take place. The interiors take influence from the concrete structure of the core along with the services through the space, to provide a simple, industrial and cost-effective finish.
